The McCarty administration has accomplished a great deal in a very short time since coming to office two years ago. She has brought more effective and efficient governance while increasing revenue to the town. Janet says, “To make life better, you have to keep taxes low while improving services.” She is pleased to announce that there was a surplus at the end of the fiscal year on June 30th, despite a $500,000 shortfall in revenue. She credited the department heads with this success.

- U.I. changes to street lights saving $9,000 per month
- Enterprise Corridor’s water/sewerage improvements & depreciation fund
- Before/After School Care: expansion by working with superintendent of schools
- Gateway Community College cooperation: use of site for future undetermined
- Annual Energy Forum: 2nd year for assistance programs & energy savings
- Expansion of Community Services & Recreation (Toy Closet, Food Closet…)
- Day Care Program now accredited
- Cleaning & Repairs of Catch Basins (plus 70 in 2 years)
- Assistance to Property Owners: re water run off from town property
- Repairs to Roof on Library
- Valley Service Road: expansion planned to increase retail development
